Papercraft Star - Challenge #3

This weeks challenge is a sketch and  the 3rd challenge at Papercraft Star. Entries for this challenge may be posted Wednesday July 7th - Saturday (12:00 noon Eastern Time) the 10th. Head over to Papercraft Star to post your entry today! Voting will begin Saturday July 11th and continue through Tuesday July 14th, so don't forget to head over and vote for your favorite!

I used the sketch from Challenge 3 at Papercraft Star to create a 12X12 layout. I pulled the color combination from the photos I used and went from there. I pretty much replicated the sketch but used pop dots, layering, embossing and embellishments to add dimension and texture. I added interest to the layout by allowing the butterfly to be a 3-D embellishment.

Instructions:
1) 12X12 base of layout is blue cs, cut red cs into 9 - squares, 9 photos to square, blue cs into 13 - squares, and 1 white square cut to 11X11. Scrap cs in red and blue to cut out butterflies, title and to heat emboss images on.

2) Layer starting with 12X12 base, and then add 11X11 in square white cs. Layer your photos and mats starting with the red cs square, then blue, then photo. Add embellishments to your blue squares being sure to do your heat embossing and cutting of images before adhering them to the page.

3) Adhere the photo mat squares and embellishment squares according to the sketch. Note: square numbers 1, 7, 10, and 16 (starting at top going left to right, this include spaces that don't have mats!) are on pop dots.

4) Cut and adhere butterflies and title and complete journaling.

Supply List:
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White and Real Red by Stampin' Up!
Ink: White Craft Ink by Stampin' Up!
