I used the photo inspiration from Challenge 1 at Papercraft Star to create a 12X12 layout using the color combination and the art of crochet as my inspiration.
I hand crocheted each of the red flowers to use as embellishments adding an element of interest. I then added embellishments in and around the crocheted flowers, allowing the eye to be drawn to the photo.
1) Layer bottom to top -
oatmeal cs 12X12, at an angle sage shadow cs 9 1/4X9 1/4, black cs 8 3/4X8 3/4, white cs 8 1/2X8 1/2, centered and on pop up dots oatmeal cs 5 1/2X7 1/2, black cs 5 1/8X71/8, photo 5X7
2) Adhere lace around the sage shadow cs and title above the top right portion of the photo.
3) Place and adhere embellishments around photo.
Paper: Oatmeal pearlized card stock (Best Occasions), Sage Shadow, Basic Black, and Whisper White cs (Stampin' Up!)
Embellishments: White lace (Crafter's Square found at Dollar Tree), Prima Roses, Prima Mixed Crystal Cream, Prima Heirloom Jade paper leaves, Pearl strands and buttons (found at Joann's), black feathers, Adhesive pearls (K&Company)
Tools: Size 3 crochet hook, Sizzix alphabet Endless Love
