Pretty Packaging....

Hi! I thought I would share with you how I packaged the cards I made for Papercraft Star Wednesday. You can see that post Here. It was quite simple really... I just stacked the envelopes and cards, wrapped them with pretty ribbon, and tied a vintage button around the excess ribbon to keep it all together.

I participated in a couple of swaps over at Your Paper Pantry, and this is how I packaged those!

I used the pretty vintage bags for the wrapping paper on the book I packaged. I very carefully took one of the bags apart to create one large piece that I could wrap the book with. The other goodies were simple placed in the bag, flapped over and tied up pretty!

I learned how to make the gorgeous black flower from Rina, ScrapStress on YouTube.
Do you have some fun packaging ideas? Please share your link with me and I will stop by!

Friendship - Scrapping Everyday Miracles

Hi! Today is Challenge 6 over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. The topic for the challenge this week is Friendship that goes the distance.

It is in our friendships that we often find so many miracles and blessings.  We all have people in our lives who come and go, but there are those who stay close no matter what happens.  Create a page focusing on the blessing of a friendship that has gone the distance.  It can be a friend you've known since high school, or someone you've worked with, a neighbor you’ve known for years, or a friend you've met online!  Someone who has been there for you through thick and thin.  Share what makes the friendship so special that you're thankful to God for bringing them into your life.

Scrap Twist:  use a layered title and add something thick and something thin on the layout.

I am lucky enough to have a couple of wonderful best friends. I am very blessed to have both in my life. I decided to focus on the friend I have known for the longest. We have been friends for 20 years, so I wanted to create a layout dedicated to our friendship.

As SEM's August Guest Designer I was able to use some sponsor product from Tattered Inspirations! I loved playing with the beautiful kit I was sent from them. The crochet lace & doily, stick pin, buttons and book page are all from the kit I received. I even used the ribbon that the kit was tied with! I made the satin lollipop flower for this layout.

I cut the title out on my neglected Cricut using the Paisley cartridge and I did some hidden journaling on a vintage index card I received in a ephemera kit from Yolanda!

I had a fun time creating this layout and it was nice to honor such a wonderful friendship!

I hope you will join us at Scrapping Everyday Miracles!

Grow - Papercraft Star Challenge 36

Hi again! It's time for another challenge at Papercraft Star! This challenge is so fun because you can create whatever you wish using spring as your inspiration and at least one of these colors!

For this challenge, I created a 12X12 layout. I found some Spring papers I liked and then headed to the computer to find some cute Easter pictures of my girls! After half of a day (I'm not kidding) this layout came to be.

I chose to use the green color out of the challenge colors for my layout. I used green and yellow as my accent colors against the blue background. I chose to use kraft as my base and added a Maya Road kraft envelope to balance the layout. For some additional fun I crocheted the yellow flowers for my layout.

I am not sure why this layout took so long for me to create other than I just wasn't liking it. I kept playing and finally came up with something that I liked. I think it turned out pretty and it just might be one of my current favs! Funny how that works out!

I hope you will join the fun this week at Papercraft Star!

You have from now until Sunday at 9pm EST to enter your projects and then voting will begin!

also this month's design team sponsor.

I look forward to seeing your works of art over at Papercraft Star!
Don't forget to head over to the Papercraft Star Message Boards for even more fun!

I am submitting this layout for the Spring Fling Challenge at The Kraft Journal

A Matching Mini

Hi!! Today I have another project to share for I Brake for stamps! Remember to use coupon code SAVE10REGAN at checkout and save 10% off your order!! IBFS also sells Tim Holtz dies, mounting foam, storage sheets, prima flowers and more!

Now about my project...
Yesterday I decided that my Cute as a Button Gift Bag needed a matching mini album to fit inside!

I used the stamps Miss Rachel in the Garden and Lace Heart by I Brake For Stamps to accent my mini. I again crocheted some flowers and made matching Miss Rachel buttons. All the pages with borders or images have functioning pockets for tags/photos.

What an adorable gift right?

Cute as a Button!

Hi all! I hope you are all having a fabulous day. Most of my day was spent cleaning but I just had to get in my craft room when this little idea popped in my head..."make your own buttons!"

I Brake For Stamps has some of the cutest stamps so why not feature them on a button! I just love the Miss Rachel stamps, so to create this button I used Miss Rachel in the Garden. Remember to use coupon code SAVE10REGAN at checkout and save 10% off your order!

I created these buttons using Shrinky dinks, circles #2 sizzix die, my BigKick, Big Bite, Stamp, StazOn Ink, some BIC permanent markers and a heat gun.

I just love this idea! There are so many possibilities and what better way to match your project than to make your own embellishments!

After I created these I of course had to make something for them to go on, so I made a cute little gift bag that I cut out of kraft card stock on my Cricut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I added some ricrac trip, a crocheted flower for my button to be attached to and a Round Metal Edge Grungy Prim Tag from KraftOutlet. Oh.. and we can't forget the jelly beans! :)

I am submitting this project for

Papercraft Star - Challenge 18

It's time for another challenge at Papercraft Star! Can you believe we are on challenge number 18? Time is flying!!

This week your challenge is to create a Thank You themed project using dry embossing, Cricut cartridge or die cuts and metal!!

You can submit your entries for this challenge on the Papercraft Star blog today through Saturday October 23rd at Noon EST!

The Prize Sponsor for this weeks Challenge is....

with a $15 dollar gift certificate!!!

I chose to create a Thank you card for this challenge.

I used Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil folded in half for my Metal and I chose to dry emboss it using the Diamonds in the Rough Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used Gold and Copper Alcohol Inks to add color to the foil giving it a little more dimension.

I used both the cricut and die cuts for my card. I cut the top note shape using my Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge. I popped it up on some foam tape and heat embossed my sentiment.
I used the Circles #2 sizzix die to create my brown tulle flower.

I just love the colors and the harshness of the metal mixed with the softness of the tulle!
I hope you will give it a try!

Now for the small print!

Measurements:
Base of card - 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 (fold in half)
Aluminum foil - 4 X 5 1/4 (double layer)
Top note - I believe it was cut at 2 1/2 (The top note measures 2 1/2 X 3 1/4)
Brown tulle - cut using the largest circle on the circles #2 Sizzix Die
Green Trim - 4 inches

Supplies:
Card Stock: More Mustard by Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper: Life's Journey collection by K&Company
Stamp: Thanks from the Much Appreciated stamp set by Stampin' Up!
Ink: Wild Honey and Walnut Stain Distress Ink by Ranger and Gold and Copper Alcohol Inks by Ranger
Tools: Cricut, BigShot, Glue Gun, Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge, Circles #2 Sizzix die, Heat Gun, distressing tool by Stampin' Up!, and Diamonds in the Rough Cuttlebug embossing folder

A Project and Some Other Things

Here are some things I have been working on lately!

I tried some of the flowers Jade did a tutorial on. You can see her video on her youtube channel jadedstudios. Here they are...

Here is a flower I came up with just messing around.

Playing with crepe paper/party streamers to find fun and inexpensive ways to embellish your projects. I used my sewing machine to get these effects!

and last but not least a FUN project! This is a Thank You gift for my friend's Mom, but it would make a great gift for your special Mother, Grandmother or friend on Mother's Day or any occasion for that matter! I used my BigShot to cut these out. I also used my sewing machine on this project!

You can see my video on my youtube channel EmoraDesigns
