This week at PaperCraft Star it's a Sketch challenge!
Today through Saturday August 28th at noon EST you can post your entries for this challenge! Voting will begin on Saturday and run through Tuesday August 31st! Please stop by the PCS blog today through Friday to see the projects the design team has created!
Instead of creating a card with the sketch this week, I decided to turn it into a beautiful layout of my daughter when she was just 3 months old! She is 3 now (sigh), they grow up so fast! The sketch worked perfectly for this photo, and I just love the way this layout turned out!
To create my layout I used two of the Classic K collections by K&Company, Bailey and Charlotte.
I distressed and inked the edges of the paper around the photo to help draw the eye to the photo. By using a black & white photo it makes the colors pop allowing the picture to stand out even more so.
Then I added some pink wired ribbon and sort of did an accordion fold to give the ribbon dimension and of course a nice big Prima flower surrounded by Prima pearls and roses!
I had a great time creating this layout and the sketch is wonderful! I hope you will come and join the fun at Papercraft Star for Challenge 10!
Instructions:
1) Trim patterned paper to the following: Green - 12X12, Floral - 10X10, Pink - 3X11 and photo - 8X8
2) Distress the edges of the floral patterned paper, tearing in random spots
3) Ink edges of Green and Floral patterned papers
4) Adhere papers and photo down
5) Fold wired ribbon as desired
6) Adhere ribbon and flower to page using hot glue gun
7) Add Prima pearls, title and journaling if desired and your layout is complete!

Ink: Creamy Caramel by Stampin' Up!
Embellishments: Prima Flower, Prima Say It In Pearls & Roses Pewter corner swirl, and Baby Pink Lyon (wired) ribbon by Pure Color
Tools: Distress Tool by Stampin' Up! and hot glue gun

What I think is so fun about this is that ribbon - it makes me think of those darling little headbands baby girls wear. What a treasure she is ! Wonderful creation this week, Regan. One of my favorite of yours. (so far!!)
