Wall Art - Papercraft Star Challenge 42

Today I have a fun project to share with you for both Papercraft Star and I Brake For Stamps!

A new challenge has opened at Papercraft Star! This week, in honor of Earth Day, PCS is asking that you create a project with Earth Day as your inspiration, include a recycled or re-purposed item in your project to help save the Earth!

I just love to re-purpose and recycle things by using them in my projects, it is a ton of fun! For this project, I decided to create a little work of art to hang in my craft room! My re-purposed / recycled element is cardboard.

I took a box I had received a package in and cut a 6 1/2 X 6 1/2 inch square piece. I peeled paper off one side of the cardboard allowing the corrugation to show. Then I watered down some white acrylic paint and randomly painted the cardboard and the edges of my 5 11/16 X 5 11/16 inch square patterned paper piece letting the paint drip down.

I inked random spots and the edges of the cardboard with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and attached my layers.
Notice I added one of my journal cards to the center from my tutorial a couple weeks ago! I used foam tape to attach the journal card to give the piece more dimension. On the journal card I used the Ruler Stamp from I Brake For Stamps. I absolutely love this stamp!

Next I added some pretty ribbon to hang my art on the wall! :)
This is a very fun and inexpensive way to add artwork to your home, I hope you will give it a try.

Fantastic project Regan. I love that you repurposed both the cardboard and your journal card from last week. The painting was a wonderful touch!

I love the distressing and grungy style this little wall hanging has. It looks like you must have had fun creating this! My favorite part is the lovely measuring tape stamp - it's sew sweet with the dress.
