Be Yourself - Papercraft Star challenge #65

It's time for another fabulous challenge at Papercraft Star! This week Kim has prepared a beautiful color combination for you to play with.

The challenge is to use combinations of 2, 3, or 4 colors only! (not including neutrals)

I love this color combination, it is so pretty! I cheated a little by using yellow as an accent color that I pulled from one of the pattern papers I used. Yellow counts as a neutral right? Okay, well I tried! :)

I really enjoy making layouts and decided to create one for this challenge. I used the sky blue, red and purple from the color combination, along with kraft, black and white (neutrals), and then I added yellow. I used the Butterfly collage sheet from The House Across The Bay to create my own embellishments for my page.

My daughter dressed herself this particular day and she is my sunshine. I see her as such a free spirit so I titled this layout "Be Yourself.... wherever you go, with all your heart." Butterflies remind me of the same, so I thought they would make the perfect embellishment fluttering around the page.

I used a 1 3/4" circle punch to create the background pattern on my page and added some machine stitching. This is a great layout to use with your scraps!! I used my craft knife to scrape a squiggly frame around the photos.

I used scraps and leftover pieces to create this little accent at the top corner of the page, adding the machine stitching once again to tie everything together. I love the way this page turned out and I hope my daughter will appreciate it when she is older.

Come play along with us at Papercraft Star, we would be happy to have you! To qualify for this weeks prizes, please submit your entries for this challenge by 6:00am EST on Monday October 10th.

I am so glad you stopped by today!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Regan

Absolutely adorable! Both the layout, and the outfit your daughter picked out! Love all the circles and the butterflies, and how fun is the framework you scratched around the photos. :)

Don't you just love kid fashion sense! :-) This is such a fun layout Regan. You were so creative with your elements and like Audrey, I love the scratched frame on your photos. Majorly fun effect! Awesome project!

Why not wear your fav tutu with rain boots! LOL! Love her style! The butterfly embellishments look great and the way you framed the photos by using a craft knife, what a creative idea!

When my daughter was little she was into those old lady velvet vintage hats with lace over the face. She wore them everywhere. In my life time we have gone through such change - it was not acceptable for young ladies to "be themselves" when I was a child. This whole layout is so charming - and brings back really nice memories of my little girl.

You make scrapbooking look easy! I can't seem to get started. I think your little girl is just precious! And the purple and red certainly pop!
Kindest regards,
Jennifer

This has got to be one of the cutest layouts ever! I love that your daughter dressed herself, and in a pink little skirt too! Just as all little girls should dress! She really does look like a free spirit! But the way you captured those photos with the title, the framing around the images, the butterflies - absolutely perfect! Wow!
