Papercraft Star - Challenge #6

It's a Sketch challenge this week at Papercraft Star!

You can submit your entries for this challenge from Wednesday July 28th - Saturday July 31st at 12:00 noon Eastern Time. Voting will begin Saturday and continue through Tuesday August 3rd, so don't forget to vote for your favorite project! You could be the next Papercraft Star!

I used this week's sketch to create a simple masculine birthday card.

I used dark earth tones for this card and I embossed the sentiment using Tim Holtz Distress embossing powder to give the image the rough texture. For embellishments I used hemp and brads to give that masculine look and then softened it a little by using a border punch.

Instructions:
1) Base of card is Charcoal grey measuring 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 then fold in half. Cut Chocolate Chip cs to 7/8 X 4, Patterned Paper 2 1/2 X 4 and Night of Navy to 4 X 5 1/4.
2) Put 3 brads in bottom right corner of Navy cs and border punch the chocolate chip cs.
3) Adhere border piece to the back and bottom of the patterned paper. Then wrap the hemp around a couple times tying a knot in the front. Using brown ink, ink the back of the patterned paper on the top right corner.
4) Adhere navy cs to the base cs, then the patterned piece to the navy cs. Be sure to fold down the top left corner revealing your inking and the navy cs behind it.
5) Stamp Sentiment using Chocolate Chip craft ink, heat emboss with Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder.
